In this role, you will:

  • Resolve complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes.
  • Engage with upstream communities to develop bug fixes and backport patches.
  • Review code produced by other engineers and maintain clear, technical communications.

Work Conditions:
Full-time, remote; occasional international travel (up to 10% of work time) for team meetings, events, and conferences.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic track record in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
  • Experience with Linux and open source software.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, C, or C++).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a drive to learn unfamiliar technologies.
  • Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • A genuine passion for technology and collaboration with skilled peers.
  • Interest in or willingness to learn about technologies such as Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, and distributed systems.

Language Requirements:
Not specified, but strong communication skills are emphasized.

What We Offer:
Canonical offers competitive compensation that includes a performance-driven annual bonus, benefits reflecting our values and ideals, a personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year, and additional perks like annual compensation review, recognition rewards, vacation leave, and an Employee Assistance Programme.

Canonical is committed to fostering a diverse workplace where all applicants are given fair consideration, regardless of identity.
