The Careem Data Science team is on a mission to leverage AI to drive competitive value from data at scale, optimizing user experiences and decision-making. As a leader in this team, you will work with top data science talent to solve regional challenges using machine learning, optimization, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
Responsibilities include developing long-term customer acquisition and engagement strategies using data-driven decision-making, conducting exploratory analysis to understand user behavior and identify new opportunities for metrics enhancement, influencing data/ML models to optimize user experience, providing product leadership with data-based recommendations, implementing scalable machine learning algorithms for big data production, tackling complex analytic questions from significant datasets, defining and tracking key metrics for projects, and continuously investigating new data processing technologies.
Qualifications for this position include experience in data mining, predictive modeling, time series analysis, and machine learning; an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science); strong problem-solving and coding skills; a solid understanding of marketplace dynamics in ride-hailing and delivery services; knowledge of AB testing and machine learning methods; fluency in English; proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and experience with database technologies; and familiarity with Agile methodologies. Experience with business intelligence tools and geospatial data processing is a plus.
