About the Job
The Manager - Platform Technology is responsible for leading a team of systems engineers and systems architects dedicated to building cloud and high-performance computing (HPC) solutions. This position requires a strong technical background in technology engineering, alongside excellent leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse team of experts. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of driving innovation and ensuring the successful implementation of cutting-edge solutions.

Core42 operates as the UAE’s national-scale enabler for cloud and generative AI, combining G42 Group’s expertise across multiple technology disciplines into a single platform for public sector and large enterprise transformations. Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of technical experts, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Leverage a strong technical background and experience to lead complex projects, make critical technical decisions, and align the team with department objectives and strategic goals.
  • Ensure high quality of technical solutions and documentation produced by the team.
  • Establish collaboration frameworks with external vendors and partners for high-quality delivery.
  • Work closely with product, program management, security, and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of platforms and features.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, reporting on progress and integrating feedback.
  • Develop and execute a strategy for platform technology that aligns with organizational objectives and promotes efficient delivery cycles.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing processes to enhance speed, efficiency, and quality.
  • Participate in internal forums, providing insights and recommendations to align with organizational technology goals and standards.
  • Establish metrics to measure the success and quality of solutions, drive improvement initiatives, and regularly report on progress to senior management.
  • Advocate for IT service management (ITSM) best practices within the Platform Technology team.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines defined by the division/department, including HR, legal, security, compliance, risk, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, software engineering, or a related technology field.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading engineering teams.
  • Over three years in a managerial role overseeing a team of 7 or more members with demonstrated successful team delivery.
  • Strong technical background with over ten years in a technical role within operations, engineering, or architecture in mission-critical production environments.
  • Ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of systems and network infrastructure engineering principles for cloud and/or HPC.
  • Ability to prioritize a diverse and challenging workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with building monitoring, observability, and incident response capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of organizational processes and experience in implementing new procedures.
  • Capability to synchronize strategies and achieve consensus across different organizational departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and cultivate a positive team culture.
  • Solid understanding of security standards and best practices, with a proven track record of compliance certifications implementation.
