About the Job: Dubizzle, as part of the Bayut & Dubizzle Group, is a leading homegrown brand in the UAE, connecting millions of users with its robust online search platform. As a Data Reliability Engineer - Intern, you will work on projects involving the management of our hybrid cloud solutions based on AWS and GCP, gaining exposure to cutting-edge technologies in data, analytics, and artificial intelligence. This role involves learning how to administer and monitor both batch and real-time data processing pipelines, collaborating with diverse teams across product & tech, trust & safety, finance, and more to facilitate their success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the administration of AWS and GCP cloud environments for data, analytics, and AI.
- Ensure system availability and compliance with company-wide security policies.
- Set up and manage security and stability alerts using tools like GuardDuty and CloudWatch.
- Monitor costs and optimize within budgets.
- Manage backups for disaster recovery and administer GitHub, password managers, and other security components.
- Grant and revoke BI system access for users.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and administer databases including Redshift, Data Lake, RDS, and Google BigQuery.
- Administer data visualization tools (Sisense, Tableau) and ETL platforms (Matillion, Airflow).
- Automate repetitive tasks using Python and shell scripting.
- Perform tasks related to production EC2 such as installing, upgrading, and patching.
Requirements:
- Recent graduates or final year students from technical degrees (computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics).
- Strong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with SQL and network security protocols.
- Understanding of data pipelines and job scheduling.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, be self-motivated, and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong curiosity with a desire for continuous learning.
