About the Job
Bayut & dubizzle are iconic, homegrown brands with a strong presence across the seven emirates in the UAE, committed to delivering the best online search experience for millions of users. As part of the Dubizzle Group, you will be involved in exciting projects that span the end-to-end Data Science lifecycle, from raw data cleaning and exploration to advanced data visualization and machine learning development. You will operate within a modern cloud-based data warehousing environment, collaborating with a diverse team and liaising with various departments such as product, technical teams, core business verticals, trust & safety, and finance.
Responsibilities
- Work on regression and classification problems utilizing tabular, textual, and image data.
- Engage in forecasting, anomaly detection, and time-series analysis.
- Build recommendation engines and develop applications based on GPT models tailored for various business needs.
- Query large datasets using AWS Redshift for data extraction to feed machine learning models.
- Conduct data exploration to identify patterns and assess data quality.
- Utilize Python for data analysis and the development of statistical models to address business problems.
- Evaluate and fine-tune machine learning models based on specific business contexts.
- Collaborate with senior peers to deploy machine learning models into production as standalone data services.
- Develop customer-facing reporting tools to track insights and system performance metrics.
- Participate in an on-call stability rota for live machine learning models.
- Take ownership of at least one machine learning product in production.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in AI, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- 2+ years of working experience in machine learning.
- Experience with AWS is a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical modeling and mathematics.
- Intermediate knowledge of Python's machine learning stack: Pandas, Matplotlib, Sklearn, Tensorflow.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms including Linear Regression, Gradient Boosted Trees, and Neural Networks.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and visualization tools like Periscope; experience in handling large datasets.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and A/B testing methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities, with a detail-oriented approach and business acumen.
