As part of a dynamic and pioneering IT department, you will join the Architecture team as a Principal Solutions Architect - Database. This role involves designing, developing, and governing solution architecture in alignment with corporate business and IT strategies. You will engage at a strategic enterprise level while taking responsibility for the solution architectures of individual projects and programmes.

In this position, you will lead the definition and governance of IT standards and practices, provide expert consultancy to project teams, and drive architecture decisions impacting solution costs, delivery schedules, and overall performance. You will manage and coach Solutions Architects and Senior Engineering resources and maintain the architecture roadmap for complex projects and platforms.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent IT-related discipline
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT architecture
• Experience in Database Technology & Infrastructure - Architecture and design
• Experience in Database Strategy - creation and execution
• Experience in Integrating Databases with a Software Defined Datacentre (SDDC)
• Experience in Integrating Databases with a Software Defined Network (SDN)
• Experience in Implementing Infrastructure as code (IAAC) for Databases
• Experience in Implementing Database automation and self-service
• Experience in Designing and implementing advanced database resiliency, HA, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery
• Deep experience with HyperVisors - VMWare, Openstack, HyperV
• Deep experience with container platforms - Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker, EKS, AKS, Tanzu or similar
