The Security Threat and Risk Specialist will lead security risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for Emirates Group operations. Investigate and evaluate incidents and security measures, collaborate on crisis plans, providing recommendations to the manager. The role ensures proactive risk management and upholding high-security standards company-wide.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare comprehensive data-driven security risk assessments for all aspects of Emirates Group’s operation, supported by the analyses conducted by the Threat and Risk Assessment Officers.
  • Recommend and implement highly effective and streamlined mitigation strategies aimed at minimizing residual risk to the Emirates Group's operations efficiently.
  • Liaise with other relevant authorities and outstation staff to investigate incidents which demonstrate potential security vulnerabilities or risks to the Group.
  • Review and rank outstation security audit reports to assess the effectiveness of security measures and controls in mitigating the inherent risk levels and accordingly determine residual risk profiles for each station and country.
  • Perform routine and incident-triggered site visits to high-risk stations to assess the efficacy of deployed mitigation strategies, and foster working relationships with the relevant AVSEC authorities and embassies.
  • Collaborate with various Emirates (EK) departments to create contingency plans tailored for high-risk stations, particularly during periods of active conflict or crises.
  • Provide guidance to other Emirates (EK) departments based on Group Security's assessment and perspective regarding security-related developments and crises.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Threat and Risk Assessment Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations and efficient execution of tasks within the department.

Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Honours with 5+ years' experience in Security / Safety / Risk Assessment / Intelligence
  • Understanding of aviation security principles, regulations and best practices including those in ICAO Annex 17, Doc 8973, Doc 10084, etc.
  • Expertise in developing, implementing and maintaining Security or Safety Management Systems.
  • Experience in conducting detailed security or safety risk assessments.
  • Ability to analyse vulnerabilities and assess risks objectively and methodically.
  • Knowledge of geo-political developments and regional conflicts.
  • Proficient in data analysis, adept at report writing, skilled in effective communication, and meticulous attention to detail.
