Join our Software Engineering team, where we leverage modern technologies, engineering practices, and innovative approaches to build exceptional software products. Our technology stack includes React, Java 11-17, Node, ALCS, Spring Boot, and various database technologies.
As a Senior Software Engineer - Java Fullstack, you will work independently on software development and problem resolution, contributing to the technical design, software development, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions/products that support the Emirates Group Business.
Responsibilities
- Work with senior technical engineers in the technical design process by contributing to the analysis of technical application requirements.
- Convert technical solutions for small to medium-sized initiatives into low-level designs and working code.
- Independently write secure and optimized code following Emirates Group approved coding standards.
- Participate in rotational on-call support and resolve production issues within SLAs with minimal supervision.
- Ensure built-in quality and maintain 100% unit testing as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
- Analyse and fix all identified defects with minimal rework.
- Implement logging and monitoring hooks as part of code development.
- Stay current with relevant technologies and apply learnings to enhance code quality.
- Adhere to IT coding standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Requirements
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Backend Application Development, primarily in Python (versions 3.7+) with microservices capability.
- Experience with Back End Technologies - Java8+, Spring, Spring Boot, Restful API, and Microservices.
- Knowledge of Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (Couchbase, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Cassandra).
- Understanding of Cloud Technologies - AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GIT, Docker, Openshift, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
- Experience in software development for large organizations and production support using the ITIL framework.
