As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will deploy and operate ArcGIS Velocity and ArcGIS Workflow Manager SaaS solutions and have the opportunity to design, deploy, and operate next-generation real-time and big data GIS software-as-a-service (SaaS) capabilities for thousands of cloud users worldwide.

Work Conditions: Hybrid, Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of SRE engineers to operate SaaS capabilities across multiple regions on the cloud platform.
  • Design, implement, configure, and utilize monitoring systems for SaaS products.
  • Manage infrastructure for ArcGIS Velocity and ArcGIS Workflow Manager, responding to alerts and troubleshooting issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions for operational tasks, such as deployment pipelines and incident resolution.
  • Create and automate Git workflows for code integration, testing, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Participate in technical discussions to bring innovative ideas for software development.
  • Troubleshoot system incidents and provide root cause analysis.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes (EKS), logging and monitoring (ELK, Prometheus), and container technologies (Docker).
  • Proficient in using Terraform for automation of infrastructure provisioning.
  • Ability to design and automate Git workflows for streamlined processes.
  • Proficiency in scripting for deployment (Bash, Python, Terraform).
  • Expertise in cloud computing platforms (AWS or Microsoft Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux OS administration, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Proficient in cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, security groups, and VPNs).
  • Experience with source control and issue management systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, GIS, or information systems.

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud environments, particularly in a 24/7 high-availability context.
  • Interest in GitOps principles for application deployment on Kubernetes clusters.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate, CKA/CKAD).
  • Familiarity with OpenSearch, Kafka, and continuous integration and delivery best practices.
  • Knowledge of operating scalable SaaS capabilities and Esri ArcGIS or web mapping technologies.
