About the Job
In this position, you will work closely with clients to define and establish geospatial-centric solutions to ensure their success, broaden the impact of GIS technology on their business, and help shape the evolution of the platform by identifying new implementation patterns. You will provide solutions and thought leadership while promoting the use of Esri technology to enable customer success and support its growth into new domains by collaborating with industry experts throughout the company.

You will be part of a talented, cross-functional team of dynamic and passionate consultants and project managers focused on delivering solutions that enable customers to make a difference in communities worldwide. As part of the delivery team, you will implement critical technologies that enhance quality, reliability, and accessibility to data and geospatial capabilities.

The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri, made up of nearly 1,000 talented professionals dedicated to helping users succeed. This team pushes the technology envelope and delivers transformational solutions to high-profile clients globally.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex and strategic GIS programs comprising multiple component engagements and stakeholder teams.
  • Collaborate with Esri and customer senior stakeholders to establish program goals aligned with organizational strategies.
  • Monitor outputs and outcomes of engagements, working with stakeholders to implement changes and interventions to ensure program benefits are realized.
  • Act as a point of contact for escalation and coordinate with stakeholders to discuss program status, balance diverse interests, and address complex program issues.
  • Produce accurate and timely reports on program status throughout its lifecycle.
  • Analyze program risks and create and manage risk mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in a similar position with related responsibilities.
  • Professional experience in program management, including managing business sectors, strategic consulting, technology adoption, and understanding customer organization needs and IT implementation patterns.
  • Ability to engage with executive leadership.
  • Extensive experience in project management and leading large-scale proposals.
  • Strong professional presentation skills for internal and external briefings.
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem solver with a team-oriented and creative approach.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with a willingness to learn and thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to translate a customer's business goals and strategies into actionable solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar field in North America or Europe.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled applications, spatial analysis, or other geospatial technologies.
  • Experience in GIS project management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with software engineering and robust application development principles.
  • Understanding of current technology implementation patterns, including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture.
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
