As a Data Center Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the development and operation of data centers. You will collaborate with local and regional facility managers, plant engineers, and design and construction teams to develop innovative and scalable solutions. This position involves managing data centers, computer farms, networking, power distribution, and cooling methods at various scales.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors, measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Additionally, you will create growth plans, participate in hiring and recruiting talent, and develop training programs to ensure team success. Your role will also require you to manage complex schedules, budgets, and inter-dependencies, acting as the single point of accountability for major construction projects and large capital improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain delivery models and vendor relationships, measuring KPIs.
- Create growth plans and assist in hiring/recruiting talent.
- Develop scalable training programs for team members.
- Research and implement effective construction methods for data center facilities.
- Manage site-wide data center construction and delivery organization.
- Support the development of detailed, localized designs and drive procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
- 7 years of experience in leadership roles with direct reports.
- Experience with data center equipment/environments, including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems.
- Experience with project management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fast-track design build processes, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of startup/commissioning processes.
