Our thirst for technology drives everything we do. The Data Center Engineering team is reshaping the physical design of our data centers for the future. This team operates like a research and development department where cutting-edge strategies are born, tested, and refined. As a Data Center Services Manager, you will engage with ambitious topics related to power usage and the operation of state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You are a visionary seeking efficiencies and continuously looking for improvements, no matter how small, that can significantly impact our operations.
In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of the development and operation of our data centers. You will collaborate with local and regional facility managers, plant engineers, and design and construction teams to create innovative and scalable solutions. Your responsibilities will include providing leadership and management for teams delivering data centers, computer farms, networking, AC and DC power distribution/conversion, and cooling methods across multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors, measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
- Create growth plans and participate in hiring and recruiting talent, as well as developing scalable training programs to ensure team success.
- Research and implement construction techniques and methods for data center equipment and facilities, translating design concepts into production integrations.
- Oversee site-wide data center construction and delivery, acting as the single point of accountability for major new construction projects or significant capital improvements in existing facilities.
- Support the development of detailed, localized designs based on programmatic design plans, driving procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
- 7 years of experience in leadership roles with direct reports.
- Experience with data center environments and equipment, including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems.
- Experience with project management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fast-track design-build processes and associated documents and agreements.
- Familiarity with start-up and commissioning processes.
