About The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on management experience and make a direct impact. Responsibilities:
- Define the strategic direction of your team and contribute to the technical strategy for the entire Hungerstation consumer products.
- Guide and coach an exceptional team of engineers, mentoring them in both technical and non-technical aspects, and lead them in building stable, scalable, and reliable features and services.
- Shape the individual careers of team members and foster a more self-organized, agile, and autonomous work environment.
- Establish and develop appropriate Engineering Practices (e.g., TDD, CI/CD, Agile Methodologies) to enhance team engagement, delivery speed, and service quality.
- Collaborate with a product manager to lead projects, managing stakeholders and dependencies, creating roadmaps, ensuring alignment, and overseeing cost management.
- Play an active role in evolving our overall architecture, particularly for the systems and products your team manages.
- Scale various organizational processes, including engineering hiring and onboarding.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- Over 8 years of overall experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the B2C domain is essential.
- Ability to work closely with your team to identify needed changes, create a vision to inspire that change, and effectively execute it.
- Proven experience in coaching or mentoring teams, evolving their structure and processes using Agile methodologies, and successfully hiring top international talent.
- Strong understanding of product and business KPIs, and the ability to translate them into actionable goals using the OKR framework.
- Proficiency in managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Familiarity with effective frameworks, practices, and approaches to resolve complex technical and organizational problems.
- Major experience in building complex, high-quality applications and knowledge of Domain Driven Design and microservice architecture.
- Expertise in selecting appropriate Design Patterns and Principles for software architectures and algorithms.
- Strong knowledge of databases and their trade-offs, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL.
- Hands-on programming experience with languages like Golang, Java, Ruby on Rails, Swift, or Kotlin, and a solid understanding of cloud-based, distributed, and scalable system architectures.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
