Position

  • Project Description: Do you have a knack for technology? Are you at your best when working in one of several small agile teams? We're looking for someone who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technology to:
    • Design features and participate in the deliveries of the Mobile Banking app
    • Guide other engineers and share standards and best practices with them
    • Collaborate with cross-location pod's to ship new features
    • Work with external data sources and / or APIs
    • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
    • Provide tech solutions and ensure adherence to good software practices by participating in code reviews
    • Partner with UX designers, architects, back-end development teams, and QA to deliver a high-quality product
    • Create, manage, and automate continuous testing of the features you delivered
    • Lead and be part of a strong technical engineering team (onsite) and contribute to the success of Mobile Excellence in the project
  • Responsibilities: You'll be working within the mobile banking app in Doha in a team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our award-winning Mobile Banking application. We plan and lead changes in our mobile crew by having chosen an agile working model, with a mindset around timeboxed delivery of solutions, empowerment of interdisciplinary pods, and close collaboration throughout the whole software development process. We are building software which covers multiple areas of the bank, always focusing on faster time to market by using agile methodologies and putting the client needs first. It's a very demanding, fast-paced, and exciting environment, this is the place to be and where we live an innovating working model.
  • Skills:
    • Must have:
      • A graduate degree in IT Software Engineering
      • Fundamental experience in designing secure, robust, and scalable applications
      • A positive attitude and a great interest in shaping the future of technology in banking
      • 7+ years of native Android (Java/Kotlin) development experience
      • Familiar with design principles
      • Knowledge of Version Control System (Git)
      • Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines
      • Experience in test-driven development, continuous Integration and Deployment
      • A strong software engineer with high dedication of sharing best practice with other, more junior engineers
      • Showing a high degree of creativity by designing user-friendly applications
      • A good technical leader and team player
      • A strong written and verbal communicator, comfortable interacting with colleagues
      • Analytically skilled person who manages to cope with complex challenges in software engineering
    • Nice to have:
      • Experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML5
      • Experience in server-based application development
      • Version control system
      • Experience in app development process in an enterprise environment (testing, continuous integration, release process)
      • Experience in building mobile application architecture
      • Mobile app deployment process
      • Knowledge of agile development methodologies
