The Director of Automation will lead the integration of automation innovations into NEOM’s project delivery. This role requires a high level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity in line with NEOM's diverse mindset.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to identify, evaluate, and integrate automation technologies into construction projects.
- Deliver initiatives that align with the sector’s mission of building faster, more efficiently, and with a reduced carbon footprint.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across NEOM to identify opportunities for automation enhancements.
- Discover or develop automation solutions to improve asset build speed and reduce costs.
- Create business cases to justify the implementation of automation solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of automation experts while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the implementation of automation technologies, ensuring seamless integration into ongoing construction projects.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including engineering, architecture, sustainability, and project management.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of automation initiatives on construction efficiency and sustainability.
- Build relationships with external partners and technology vendors to stay informed about emerging trends.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in automation, robotics, or related fields, with at least 10 years in senior management.
- Proven track record in implementing automation solutions, coupled with strong leadership skills and an ability to meet aggressive timelines.
- Experience managing technology and innovation initiatives from ideation to execution.
- Background in infrastructure development, construction management, or vendor management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and visionary thinking.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Results-driven mindset focused on meeting ambitious deadlines.

Qualifications
- Minimum BS/BA in Engineering or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
