About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for Application Administration and Integration to join our dynamic team. This role requires a deep understanding of Atlassian Jira and GitLab systems to support our organization's software development and project management needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and administer Atlassian Jira and GitLab instances, including workflows, custom fields, permissions, and notifications.
- Develop and maintain custom scripts, plugins, and integrations to enhance Jira and GitLab functionality.
- Provide technical expertise and support to teams using Jira and GitLab for issue tracking, project management, and version control.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define system enhancements, and prioritize tasks.
- Perform regular system maintenance and upgrades, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Create and maintain detailed technical and user documentation related to Jira and GitLab configurations and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Jira workflows, permissions, and integrations with other tools.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on best practices and new features.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Atlassian and GitLab administration.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as a subject matter expert for Jira and GitLab.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Proven experience as a Jira and GitLab Administrator in a large-scale organization.
- Strong knowledge of Jira and GitLab architecture, administration, and configuration.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Groovy, or Bash for automation.
- Ability to customize Jira workflows, screens, fields, and dashboards to meet business needs.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to Jira and GitLab environments.
- Solid understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
- Experience with integrating Jira and GitLab with other applications and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 8 years of proven experience in a similar role within a software development or IT operations environment.
- Atlassian certifications such as Jira Administrator or Agile Development with Jira Software would be preferred.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Docker/containerization would be preferred.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and practice would be preferred.
