The Information Systems Engineer is responsible for delivering enterprise-level IT support and maintenance of various IT services within the organization. The core responsibilities include leveraging engineering tools and processes for effective installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and support of NTT infrastructure and systems. This role works independently and utilizes troubleshooting skills to research and resolve medium- to complex issues.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Installs, tests, and maintains new hardware or software to provide new services or resolve user and system problems.
  • Performs troubleshooting and system analysis to resolve incidents and ensure system availability.
  • Handles system administration tasks including configuration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Tests and validates new systems to ensure they fulfill the requested functionality and quality.
  • Implements backup and recovery procedures to ensure necessary availability.
  • Conducts system monitoring for proactive support, collecting availability, performance metrics, and system logs.
  • Manages hardware or software upgrades and patching to support vulnerability and risk management.
  • Defines, raises, and executes changes as part of the Change Management Process.
  • Creates system documentation and maintains fixes, modifications, or other changes.
  • Executes tasks as part of request fulfillment and escalates issues as needed to provide the right level of support.
  • Identifies and documents potential problems within the ticketing system and suggests possible service improvements.
  • Creates and manages tickets for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Request Fulfillment.
  • Documents work results, actions taken, steps to resolve, efforts, and resolution time in the ticketing system.
  • Performs other tasks as planned and approved by the leadership team, collaborating with senior team members for guidance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Good knowledge of the necessary infrastructure technologies or software.
  • Familiarity with management tools and languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, SQL, ABAP, etc.).
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and possesses a solid technical understanding.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of ITIL Support processes (Incident, Change, and Request Management).
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution.
  • Capable of working collaboratively across several business areas/functions on projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, multitask, and work independently.
  • Proficient in utilizing key systems and tools related to the supported system.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Relevant certification for the requested technology - CCNA, MCP, A+, Linux+, Microsoft Certified.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within an information technology environment.
