The Information Systems Engineer is responsible for delivering enterprise-level IT support and maintenance of various IT services within the organization. Core responsibilities include leveraging engineering tools and processes for the effective installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and support of NTT infrastructure and systems. This role requires independent work and the use of troubleshooting skills to research and resolve medium- to complex issues.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and maintain new hardware or software to provide new services or to resolve user and system problems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and system analysis to resolve incidents and ensure system availability.
  • Execute system administration tasks including configuration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Test and validate new systems to ensure they fulfill requested functionality and quality.
  • Implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure needed availability.
  • Conduct system monitoring for proactive support by collecting availability, performance metrics, and system logs.
  • Perform hardware or software upgrades and patching to support vulnerability and risk management.
  • Define, raise, and execute changes as part of the Change Management Process.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including fixes and modifications.
  • Collaborate with vendors or other delivery organizations as necessary to provide appropriate support.
  • Identify and document potential system problems within the ticketing tool.
  • Suggest and document possible service improvements.
  • Create and manage tickets for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Request Fulfillment.
  • Document work results, actions taken, steps to resolve issues, effort, and resolution time in the ticketing system.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Proficient knowledge of needed infrastructure technology or software.
  • Familiarity with necessary management tools and languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, SQL, ABAB).
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical understanding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of ITIL Support processes (Incident, Change, and Request Management).
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate solutions.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with teams from various business areas.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Skills in prioritizing workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Proficient in utilizing key systems and tools related to supported systems.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related fields (or equivalent work experience).
  • Relevant certification for the requested technology - CCNA, MCP, A+, Linux+, Microsoft Certified.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within an information technology environment.
