We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration within a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems). Access to the Data Center site within approximately 60 minutes is required due to on-call duties. The role also includes physical tasks, such as the ability to lift up to 25Kg, and may involve working in cramped or elevated spaces.
Requirements
- 6 to 10+ years of experience in Data Center operations
- Proven experience in M&E equipment and "mission-critical operations" environments
- Strong technical knowledge related to data center design and operations, including electrical and cooling systems
- Familiarity with structured cabling, rack and stack equipment, and systems administration for Linux and/or Windows Servers
- Good command of English, both oral and written
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Act as a support expert liaison to technical and non-technical teams
- Provide timely technical solutions to internal customer problems
- Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of production server hardware
- Conduct system board level repairs and fault diagnosis
- Plan and commission new rack positions
- Ensure adherence to defined Health & Safety processes
- Keep up with the latest technologies and apply them as appropriate
