Position

The physical security operations team is the primary interface with all clients, ensuring that client needs and expectations are met with high-quality, industry-standard programs and services. Oracle is looking for a senior security professional to join our team and take on the leadership and development of teams, products, and services within the Global Physical Security (GPS) operations line of business, with specialized expertise in data center operational security, guard force management, crisis management programs, risk assessments, incident response, and investigations.

This position reports directly to the Director, Global Data Center Security Operations based in the USA. It is a new position focused on the Middle East and Southern Africa, requiring periodic regional and global travel. The role is an individual contributor position with no direct reports but will oversee contracted security staff across their portfolio.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide regional operational direction and oversight to implement GPS strategic initiatives related to data center operational security.
  • Manage security guard forces at both internal and external data center locations.
  • Collaborate with Oracle Lines of Business and external audit regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with various security standards (e.g. SSAE 18, ISO, PCI).
  • Lead incident response and crisis management efforts.
  • Provide quality customer service and advice to Oracle employees on physical security matters.
  • Maintain global oversight for the recruitment, training, and retention of security personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to industry-standard physical security best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and manage the regional data center security operations program budget.
  • Perform additional functions as required to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial security experience, with at least 7 years in senior management/leadership roles within a physical security/data center environment.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance requirements for physical security operations and data center security.
  • Experience in crisis management at the corporate level.
  • Familiarity with security technology resources, including access control and CCTV systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software and effective communication skills at all organizational levels, including senior executives.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills, ideally with experience working in diverse cultural settings.

Scope and Impact:
This role has a regional scope of responsibility with high impact on the business function and minimal direct supervision. It emphasizes developing regional operational strategies and leading collaborative teams for successful outcomes.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in required functions is essential.
  • A BS/BA degree is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Industry certifications are preferred but not required.

Language Requirements:
Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
