As a Systems Engineer, you’ll enable sales engagements into a set of large new enterprise accounts, playing a key role in navigating complex accounts to generate and deliver winning proposals, contract bids, statements of work, and RFI/RFP responses. It is critical to meet and exceed sales quotas by implementing strategic account plans targeting enterprise-wide deployments of the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform.

Your Impact

  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers working with your Account Manager and local partners.
  • Identify and document specific problems with prospective and current customers that can be solved through the deployment of integrated solutions.
  • Architect and propose validated solutions addressing identified cybersecurity problems.
  • Ensure ongoing customer happiness, support, and adoption.
  • Maintain continuous self-improvement to achieve technical leadership in applicable technologies (data center, SDN, public cloud, security, networking).
  • Understand and differentiate against our top competitors.
  • Act as a customer advocate for any technical assistance needed, following up until issues are resolved.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a successful pre-sales SE, systems integrator, or equivalent experience.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent military experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Palo Alto Networks products, especially Next-Generation Firewall, and some comparative technologies.
  • Experience with systems installation, configuration, and administration of routers/switches, UNIX/Linux, and Windows-based systems.
  • Knowledge emphasizing L2-L4 Networks, including L2 switching architectures (Spanning Tree) and IP routing (OSPF and BGP).
  • Ability to present our security platform effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex problems and finding quick resolutions.
  • Mature time-management skills.
  • Prior experience selling network infrastructure-based security appliances (e.g., Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs).
  • Familiarity working with Channel partners and understanding a channel-centric market approach.
  • Previous experience in the enterprise networking security space.
  • Knowledge of modern network threats, malware, network forensics, automation tools and technologies, and endpoint security technologies.
  • Significant industry certifications (SANS, CISSP, CCIE, etc.) are a plus.

As part of our Systems Engineering team, you’ll support the sales team with technical expertise and guidance to establish trust with key clients. You will engage in a solutions-focused sales environment, working collaboratively to resolve complex cyberthreats.
