As an Engineer - Full Stack, you will join the development team to build the annotation platform for both front-end and back-end. You'll collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Software Engineers to research, design, implement, and enhance the functionalities of the annotation platform as part of a Big Data analytic system.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, refactor, and scale the next-generation data analytics platform, which includes data management, ETL pipelines, ML model integrations, and rich visualizations.
- Proactively prototype new ideas/components and transform existing proof-of-concept components into production-grade solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Take ownership of certain functional areas and maintain high test coverage.
- Engage in overall architecture discussions and maintain thorough documentation of activities.
Qualifications
To qualify, you must have:
- A computer science background with excellent knowledge of common data structures and algorithms.
- 4-8 years of experience building single-page applications (SPAs) using React and back-end systems in Java.
- In-depth knowledge of web fundamentals, including protocols and modern web standards.
- Expertise in modern React (composition patterns, hooks, data access) and complex state management (Redux/Mobx).
- Strong foundation in web technologies (HTML, DOM, CSS) with experience in Tailwind considered a plus.
- Solid understanding of the Java platform; certification as a Java SE11 professional is a significant advantage.
- Experience working with core Spring components (Security, Data/JPA, Web) and low-level JDBC.
- Proven ability to build durable, long-running processing pipelines and task orchestration.
- Passion for application profiling and low-level optimizations.
- Proficient in SQL; experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Flink, Kafka, S3) is a plus.
- Experience with Temporal.io for processing pipelines and familiarity with column-oriented OLAP engines (e.g., Clickhouse) is desirable.
- Ability to integrate ML models into custom data pipelines; experience with Docker/Kubernetes/MLOps is beneficial.
This role is based in Abu Dhabi.
