Presight is seeking an innovative, creative, and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to build the structure of advanced software applications by writing flawless business logic, server scripts, and APIs. You will play a key technical role in sustaining and optimizing the infrastructure for delivering cutting-edge analytics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design business-specific software components and modules using appropriate modeling techniques.
- Create and communicate multiple design views for stakeholder approval, balancing functional and non-functional requirements.
- Model or simulate the behavior of proposed software to assist in construction.
- Design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and re-factor complex programs/scripts and integration software services.
- Define and manage scoping, requirement definition, and prioritization activities for small-scale changes.
- Follow agreed standards to elicit and document detailed requirements.
- Contribute to the selection of a software development approach—predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile).
- Design test cases and test scripts, clearly recording and reporting outcomes.
- Maintain specialist knowledge of database and data warehouse concepts and architecture.
- Develop optimal solutions to enhance user experience, maximizing speed, scalability, and feasibility.
- Participate in overall architecture discussions to understand the complete product architecture and functionalities.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Comply with QHSE policies, procedures, and related risk assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in software backend development with strong computer science fundamentals.
- At least 5 years of experience in Java Spring Boot and microservices development.
- Familiarity with Maven.
- Experience in cloud computing and cloud platform development & deployment.
- Extensive UNIX/LINUX and Shell scripting experience.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, and familiarity with Elasticsearch.
- Experience in RESTful API development.
- Practiced in multithreading programming and concurrency programming.
- Proficient in using Git.
Ideally, you’ll also need:
- Experience with nginx server.
- Experience using AWS or Azure cloud services.
- A passion for constant improvement and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
