We are seeking a Data Engineer to enhance our data engineering capabilities. In this role, you will support junior team members and be instrumental in building and maintaining the infrastructure for sophisticated data solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build self-service data layers and provide insights to align data architecture with broader business strategies. Your leadership will help guide the team toward innovative solutions and maintain high data quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement complex ETL solutions for large datasets.
- Optimize and fine-tune SQL and/or Python code for performance.
- Mentor junior team members and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Design and maintain data models for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipeline performance.
- Build and maintain self-service datasets to accelerate data democratization efforts.
- Lead initiatives for managing and optimizing infrastructure.
- Implement best practices for version control and collaboration in Terraform.
Desired Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience as a data engineer.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience with modern cloud data warehousing and data lake solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Experience with ETL/ELT and batch/streaming data processing pipelines.
- Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, DMS, Glue, Athena, EKS).
- Experience with data warehousing and dimensional data modeling best practices.
- Knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., FiveTran, DBT, Airbyte) and orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster, Airflow).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- Familiarity with data stores (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight).
