We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our Professional Services team. This role is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our client’s database systems. The ideal candidate will possess solid technical experience with database platforms, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to ensuring database reliability, performance, and security to support our client’s operations.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems.
- Perform routine database administration tasks including user management, security patching, and backups.
- Monitor database performance and storage utilization, resolving issues as they arise.
- Implement and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
- Assist with capacity planning and resource allocation for database environments.
- Apply database security best practices including access controls and account management.
- Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations according to change management processes.
- Troubleshoot database connectivity, performance, and availability issues.
- Implement and maintain database high-availability solutions.
- Tune database instances and queries for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with application teams to resolve database-related issues.
- Develop and maintain database documentation including configurations and procedures.
- Assist with data extraction and transformation requests.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours database support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in database administration.
- Proficiency in at least two major database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Knowledge of database concepts, architecture, and administration.
- Experience with database backup and recovery procedures.
- Understanding of database security principles and access control mechanisms.
- Good knowledge of SQL programming and query optimization.
- Experience with database monitoring tools and alerting systems.
- Experience with database high-availability concepts and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication abilities and teamwork orientation.
- Attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures.
Additional Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with multiple data services platforms.
- Basic scripting abilities for automation of routine database tasks.
- Knowledge of cloud database services.
- Familiarity with database performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with database clustering and replication technologies.
- Understanding of data modeling and database design principles.

- Familiarity with virtualization technologies as they relate to databases.
