Position

Rackspace Technology is a leading provider of expertise and managed services across all major public and private cloud technologies, offering a Fanatical Experience™ from initial consultation to daily operations. We are seeking a highly experienced engineer with deep expertise in OpenStack to join our Private Cloud Professional Services team in the Riyadh Region, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, on-site position will support a long-term, high-value Professional Services engagement by managing and optimizing a production-grade OpenStack private cloud environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong Linux administration skills, proficiency in infrastructure automation, and a proven ability to operate in compliance-driven, high-security environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical cloud infrastructure while proactively advising on potential issues and providing solutions that enhance the stability and security of customer deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • OpenStack Deployment and Management: Support, deploy, and manage OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure, configuring and maintaining services such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, and Keystone.
  • Kubernetes Orchestration: Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration, ensuring smooth application deployment and maintenance.
  • Integration and Automation: Develop automation scripts and tools for provisioning, monitoring, and scaling cloud resources, integrating OpenStack and Kubernetes technologies.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, optimize configurations for efficiency, and troubleshoot issues, including those related to SDN networking.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and manage access controls in OpenStack and Kubernetes environments to ensure compliance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain technical documentation and generate reports on system performance, capacity, and utilization.
  • Collaboration and Support: Provide technical support and collaborate with various teams to integrate OpenStack and Kubernetes with existing systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong experience in Linux system administration with expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenStack deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Storage systems (like Ceph) and cloud-native principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills, with prior customer-facing experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or COA are preferred.

Additional Skills (Optional):

  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with SDN solutions in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of IaC tools (like Terraform or Ansible) for provisioning and configuration management.
