We are seeking a highly skilled Storage Engineer Level 4 to join our professional services team, dedicated to supporting one of our key customers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced storage solutions, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role demands a proactive individual with a deep understanding of storage technologies and the ability to work collaboratively with other IT professionals to meet the client's needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy comprehensive storage solutions that meet the customer's requirements, including SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage systems.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor storage system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution of storage-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system functionality.
- Data Security and Compliance: Ensure that all storage solutions comply with industry standards and regulations, implementing robust backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of storage architectures, configurations, and procedures while providing regular reports on system performance and capacity.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including network, security, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and operation of storage systems.
- Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest storage technologies and trends, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
Experience & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications in storage technologies are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in storage engineering, with a proven track record of designing and managing large-scale storage environments.
- Expertise in Storage Technologies: Strong knowledge in storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and Object Storage, along with proficiency with hardware and software from vendors like NetApp, DellEMC, Pure Storage, and others.
- Performance Tuning: Strong skills in storage performance tuning and troubleshooting, along with experience in backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Scripting Proficiency: Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, with familiarity in cloud storage solutions, particularly AWS S3 or other S3-compatible environments.
- Operating Systems: Solid understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
