Senior Security System Engineer

About the Job:

The Physical Security System and Technology Team, part of the Corporate Services' physical security department, focuses on utilizing technology to mitigate security risks within the workplace. The team's core responsibilities include the daily operation, maintenance, and upgrade of global physical security and prevention systems, such as Lenel, Hikvision, and Avigilon, as well as managing and maintaining physical security-related data.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to users, document system issues, analyze and identify root causes, recommend solutions, fix issues, and provide status updates and periodical incident reports to management.
• Guide internal R&D team members on integrating internally developed applications with security systems, focusing on SQL database open connectivity development.
• Coordinate with security system vendors to address outstanding issues raised by internal teams timely and document these interactions for management updates.
• Serve as the primary point-of-contact for security system vendors and participate in periodic meetings as required.
• Conduct regular system health checks to ensure the safe, stable, and efficient operation of security systems globally.
• Perform application and system upgrades based on vendor recommendations to maintain operational standards, enhance software capabilities, and develop testing and validation procedures.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, or a related field.
• Experience in one or more programming languages, including scripting in Shell and Python, as well as SQL.
• Background in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed applications and systems, or experience with database, operating systems, and server management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying problems and promoting ongoing project development.
• Certification or training in Lenel physical security applications and systems is a plus.
