As a Data Scientist on the algorithms track, your mission will be to enhance the quality of decision-making across products and business using relevant, reliable, and actionable data. You will be responsible for a specific domain and will collaborate closely with product and business managers as part of a skilled team of data scientists and data engineers. You will manage the entire data value chain, including logging, data modeling, analysis, reporting, and experimentation. Many initiatives will leverage Generative AI for tasks such as data enrichment, smart content understanding, and automated decision-making to improve user experiences and business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Identify business opportunities through data-driven insights.
- Solve complex business challenges using appropriate algorithms.
- Design and implement impactful machine learning and generative AI systems.
- Develop a strong understanding of product experiences and related business processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand source data and its origins.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of data models for performance measurement.
- Work closely with teams to derive actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Plan and analyze experiments, including A/B tests.
- Assist in KPI design and goal setting for product and business managers.
- Mentor fellow data scientists and contribute to internal training programs.
Requirements:
- Experience in machine learning, generative AI, deep learning, recommendation systems, and data mining.
- Proficiency in ML and GenAI frameworks (e.g. Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Excellent skills in SQL and familiarity with Python or R for reproducible data analysis.
- Strong understanding of various types of analysis and experiment design.
- Experience with product data and health measurement is advantageous.
- Familiarity with BigQuery and the Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
- Experience in data engineering and data pipeline development is an asset.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields. A postgraduate degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data science, machine learning, and Gen AI.
- Experience in an online consumer product setting is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
