The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will lead and code, working within a squad to build and deliver a world-class application to our global customer base. You will be challenged to deliver software that is highly functional yet simple, feature-rich yet low latency, and overall best in class, utilizing Java and cloud-native technologies. You will engage with Event Driven services, REST and GraphQL endpoints, ensuring high resiliency, low latency, and scalability to meet diverse regional requirements. The position offers a fully agile environment where you will be empowered to innovate and mentor your peers.

Key Responsibilities
- Build, deliver, and support first-class Java Services, Microservices, and Functions.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Architect to engineer a cloud-native financial application.
- Design for fault tolerance, resilience, speed, and security.
- Utilize data-driven insights and observability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Balance agile fast-paced delivery within a highly regulated industry.
- Ensure security and compliance best practices.
- Continuously improve the application delivery processes.
- Be an engaging member of the team and participate in social events.
Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in AWS and Java (Spring, Spring Boot, Javalin).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of REST, OpenAPI, and reactive services.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and domain-driven design.
- Experience with testing frameworks (Unit, Integration, API, and Contract Testing).
- Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases.
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with languages such as TypeScript and Python.
- Experience with Lambda and serverless functions development.
- Understanding of Data Lakes, Data Ingestion, and Analysis tools.
Qualifications
- You are a skilled, creative, and inquisitive Java engineer with a passion for quality and delivery.
- You possess hands-on experience with Java and cloud-native (primarily AWS) development.
- You have a strong understanding of REST API design and services architecture.
- Experience with databases and data analysis tools is required.
- You are adept with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, curiosity, and a quick learning ability are essential.
- You thrive in a creative, fast-paced agile environment and enjoy mentoring others.
