As a member of the Steer Studios team, you will collaborate with top global gaming talents and passionate local professionals in a dynamic and ambitious environment.

We are seeking a Lead Game Designer with a strong passion for various gaming genres and storytelling. In this role, you will take on project leadership responsibilities, helping solve production and creative challenges while working closely with the Creative/Game Director. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Staying updated on the latest player trends and effectively integrating them into the game design.
• Planning, detailing, and supervising the work of Game Designers on your team.
• Ensuring the development of innovative gameplay experiences in alignment with the game's vision.
• Conceptualizing and developing characters, rules, settings, and stories for new games.
• Managing creative ideation processes, from pitching concepts to rapid prototyping.
• Defining Game Design Documents (GDD) for various game systems and meticulously documenting all details and changes.
• Reviewing game features to ensure they align with the GDD and provide a fun play experience.
• Playing game updates regularly for quality control and user feedback integration.
• Collaborating closely with artists, developers, and other team members to ensure project alignment.
• Training and developing junior game designers while promoting a culture of experience sharing.
• Advocating for a game-developer mindset across the team, beyond just technical mastery.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

• Expertise in mobile and free-to-play (F2P) gaming, with multiple titles shipped.
• Over 6 years of experience as a game designer.
• Strong understanding of the gaming industry, market, and target demographics.
• Proficiency in driving game design through key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Experience in prototyping and shipping games using Unity or Unreal gaming engines.
• Extensive knowledge of game design principles and the gaming landscape.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to create clear and concise documentation.
• Strong attention to detail from both a technical and artistic perspective.
• Command of Excel or any scripting language for maintaining design configurations.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and intuitive development skills.
• Leadership qualities that foster team collaboration.
• A strong passion for gaming and a keen eye for detail.
• A fast learner, willing to adapt and grow within the role.
• A Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in game design or a related field is preferred.
