Position
We are looking for a Senior 3D Artist with expertise in 3D pipelines for characters and environments. In this role, you will work closely with the Art Director, Lead Artist, and Production team to produce 3D models for characters, environments, and props in accordance with style guides optimized for mobile devices. Additionally, you will mentor a team of artists and occasionally supervise external teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D art assets including characters, props, and environments.
- Produce both high- and low-poly art assets using various art pipelines.
- Implement the 3D process and pipeline for the game, developing shaders and texturing techniques in collaboration with the art team.
- Suggest improvements for the 3D pipeline and process.
- Integrate art assets into Unity or other gaming engines and address modeling and texturing bugs.
- Perform simple rigging for props and small objects.
- Utilize PBR rendering, create texture atlases, and manage mesh and texture animations.
- Ensure all work aligns with the project's direction and style guide.
- Build 3D asset libraries to boost productivity.
- Handle multiple projects with various artistic styles under pressure.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for game ideas.
- Manage vendor relationships by providing feedback and follow-ups.
- Mentor junior team members when necessary.
Qualifications and Key Skills
- Expertise in 3D software such as Maya, Max, ZBrush, Blender, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of 3D assets, tools, and pipeline creation.
- 8-10 years of experience as a Senior 3D Artist or equivalent, with a portfolio that includes shipping 3-5 games, particularly AAA titles for mobile or console.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma (e.g., BFA) preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and intuition regarding 3D tools.
- Deep knowledge of various game genres across platforms.
- Proficient in Unity and other gaming engines.
- Experience across a range of devices from mobile to console.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to work well in teams, delegate tasks, and manage projects.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Passion for gaming with a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, accept and provide direction, and work well under pressure.
