The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is a publicly funded research institute based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. We house a diverse community of leading scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and researchers dedicated to pioneering research and technology that drives societal advancement. Our Artificial Intelligence Cross-Center Unit operates as the machine learning powerhouse of TII, closely collaborating with various research centers to harness AI's full potential across multiple sectors including technology, healthcare, cybersecurity, and government.
We are seeking an experienced High-Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage scalable high-performance computing solutions to address complex computational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize HPC systems and applications.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate HPC solutions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HPC systems and software issues.
- Perform system administration, including configuration and monitoring of HPC cluster health.
- Provide technical expertise for customer inquiries and pre-sales engineering support.
- Research new technologies for improving system performance and efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience with HPC, cluster management, and parallel computing.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Fortran.
- Experience in a Linux/Unix environment, including scripting and system administration.
- Familiarity with MPI, OpenMP, or other parallel processing frameworks.
- Experience with job scheduling tools such as Slurm or PBS Pro.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and teamwork-oriented.
- Experience with cloud-based HPC solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
- Familiarity with GPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL) or FPGA is a plus.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Singularity is a plus.
