About the Job
Teradata's Junior Database Administrator (DBA) specializes in Database Administration, Operation, Monitoring, and Backup of various Teradata Engines. As a DBA consultant within the Managed Services team, you will support one of Teradata’s premier accounts and will be required to successfully complete the following tasks:

User & Database Management: Create and manage Users, Databases, Roles, Profiles, and Accounts. Handle the backup, archive, and restore jobs for different Teradata Engines, including planning, configuration, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting any failures. Maintain the NetBackup configuration for policies, retention periods, tapes, backup images, and reports. Configure proactive alerts for all database aspects such as System Health, blocking issues, space allocation, misuse of resources, and idle sessions. Conduct real-time monitoring of the system using Viewpoint to identify any performance degradation issues.

Database Object Management: Perform housekeeping activities and manage historical data activities. Maintain and configure different workloads using TASM based on varying roles in the environment (Loading, Ad-hoc requests, APIs, etc.) with appropriate priorities. Maintain the environment’s Security Matrix based on different roles and schemas. Periodically create reports for the customer detailing the current system status and recent improvements. Investigate and troubleshoot any database service failures and collaborate with offshore support to resolve issues. Attend database upgrades and carry out necessary health checks. Deploy database change scripts provided by other team members.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team at one or more of Teradata’s premier accounts across a variety of industries within Saudi Arabia. You will report to a Managed Services Technical Delivery Manager.

- 1-2 years of experience

- Strong communication skills, both written and oral (Arabic and English as a minimum)
