Position

Thales is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our engineering team at Astra UTM. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate daily with Project Managers and the Software Team to ensure that system requirements are clearly defined and traceability is maintained.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Define system requirements by translating stakeholder needs into technical specifications.
  • Develop detailed functional, performance, and environmental requirements while ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ED-109).
  • Ensure that requirements are complete, consistent, and testable, and contribute to system-level testing procedures.
  • Continuously update your expertise and design innovative solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Solve complex problems in a challenging work environment.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Software and/or Systems Engineering.
  • Familiarity with writing system specifications, including functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Experience with engineering processes and tools.
  • Adaptability to change.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of development assurance standards (e.g., ED-153, ED-109A, ARP 4754A, ED-12C).
  • Experience in the operational and regulatory environment of Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM).
  • Experience with drone operations.

Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements:

  • Master's degree from an Engineering School (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space Engineering, Computer Science) or a related university degree.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to quickly comprehend the organization’s systems, including key stakeholders, interactions, products, and the environment.
  • Recognized as a team player who enjoys collaborative work in international settings.
  • Possess a synthetic and helicopter view of the organization.
  • Resourceful, analytical, structured, open-minded, curious, rigorous, and logical.
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written).
