Our Engineering team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems and technologies that drive Unifonic’s solutions. We closely collaborate with other departments to ensure our products and services meet customer needs. As an Engineering Manager, Software, you will play a pivotal role in defining, leading, and delivering Unifonic’s products on time and within budget. This involves overseeing a project's entire lifecycle, communicating with key stakeholders, supporting Unifonic’s product portfolio, and continually improving our product, project, and vendor management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own technical product requirements, specifications, and roadmaps based on user and business needs by collaborating with product, marketing, operations, and sales teams.
  • Work with Product Managers, Designers, Marketers, and Executive Managers to prioritize, schedule, and deliver work, making necessary adjustments to resource allocation as needed.
  • Maintain, operate, and oversee stakeholders' services.
  • Apply Agile methodologies to consistently deliver value to customers.
  • Lead the on-call incident escalation and response processes for the team.
  • Design and manage clients’ technical solutions, ensuring proposed designs meet client requirements.
  • Drive engineering process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to launch and manage products successfully.
  • Track the performance of releases through metrics and provide necessary training for new features.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement through retrospection, focusing on customer satisfaction using a data-driven approach.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience with 4+ years in technical management, successfully delivering large-scale projects.
  • Solid experience as a Java or Python developer, as well as with databases (e.g., MySQL, Cassandra), distributed caching (e.g., Redis, Memcache), and queueing solutions (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Exceptional coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale distributed applications.
  • Strong integration and configuration skills, particularly with servers (Windows and Linux, AWS, OpenStack), API gateways, and web services.
  • Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Camunda) is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of partnering, recruiting, building, and managing on-shore and off-shore engineering teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills to translate customer requirements into functional specifications.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Daily collaboration with offshore teams.
  • Fluent in English with exceptional communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Software, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) are a plus.
