Application Support/Software Developer

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Stake Holders to review and define application/software requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Manage technical development of software from inception through to user acceptance.
• Design and develop user interfaces to internet/intranet applications and mobile applications.
• Assume accountability for successful implementations of all client development projects.
• Monitor and assist with software installation; ensures application operates within established specifications.
• Monitor and assist with software testing and validation procedures and programming.
• Deliver application releases on-time and within budget as required.
• Develop and maintain project plans, reports, and project specific processes, including unit tests, system tests, and implementation plans.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related software engineering or other relevant discipline, or industry certifications in software development.
• 5 years of work experience in software development.
• Proven experience in delivering complex solutions.
• Expert knowledge of C#, C++, JavaScript, VBScript, HTML5, CSS, .Net Framework, ASP.net, JQuery, XML, JSON, SQL, Apache & IIS, API (WCF and RESTful) – for integrations
• Advance knowledge design of data warehouse design and architecture & ETL software
• Windows environment and MS tools set including MSDynamics.
• Knowledge of Insurance products; Health and/or Property and Casualty is a plus but not required.
• Experience with Prime/Pure and/or Plexis QC and HPS is a plus but not required.
• Proven full stack development background in a variety of development/ programming languages, a showcase of mobile/web applications development, demonstrating capability and advanced understanding of software development best practices is advantageous.
• Ability to write and understand complex SQL statements.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas both verbally and in written form.
