About the Role
We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join our team in Bahrain. In this role, you will work with a cybersecurity platform that handles a high volume of security telemetry from numerous customers. The platform performs automated analysis and equips our operations teams with the necessary tools to make informed decisions. Serving multiple customers from a single deployment requires that every part of the pipeline maintain strict tenant isolation, manage bursty traffic, handle third-party rate limits, and address partial failures. The engineering challenges primarily revolve around distributed systems.

Join a small, senior-minded team where engineers are encouraged to ship to production, take ownership of what they deliver, and collaborate directly with the operations teams who utilize the platform daily. We prioritize engineering quality above all else. From your first month, you will build production components of the platform, paired with a senior engineer who oversees the subsystem you are working in. As you grow in your role, you will take on more ownership, but note that this position is not a traditional junior role. We are looking for individuals early in their careers who have demonstrated the ability to operate beyond their current level and who prefer tackling complex systems problems instead of simply writing glue code.
Role Requirements
- Two or more years of experience writing production software in TypeScript on Node.js or in Python, with proficiency in the other language.
- Hands-on experience with a system that has real scaling demands; you should be able to explain your contributions to a service that managed sustained high throughput, large data volumes, or numerous concurrent tenants, even if you were not the designer. Understanding the reasoning behind building such systems and their limitations is also required.
- A demonstrated record of excellence, evidenced by at least one of the following: graduating at the top of your cohort from a strong program; having a competitive programming or security capture-the-flag ranking; significant contributions to a widely used open-source project; early promotions or substantial ownership grants from past employers; or a shipped feature with measurable business or reliability impact you can describe.
- Strong foundational knowledge in data structures, concurrency and asynchronous programming, HTTP and REST protocols, relational and document databases, and message queues.
- Discipline in your work: you write tests proactively, review the code you depend on, and your pull requests clearly articulate the reasons behind changes.
- Proficiency in written English to facilitate effective communication, as much of our design work occurs through documents and pull request discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to cyber-security concepts, including log analysis, endpoint-detection tools, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, or possession of a security-focused degree or certification.
- Experience using a workflow orchestration engine or a streaming platform in a production environment.
- Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes and debugging pods that fail to start.
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs that have strict rate limits.
- A security background is not required, as you will have the opportunity to learn how defenders think and how attacks unfold.
