What You'll Be Doing
- Create detailed and coordinated 3D models for wet utility systems, including water mains and distribution networks, foul sewer networks, stormwater drainage and retention systems, and associated structures like manholes, chambers, catch basins, valve boxes, and culverts.
- Develop and maintain accurate Civil 3D models and drawings in alignment with project specifications and standards.
- Collaborate closely with civil engineers, project managers, BIM coordinators, and other discipline modelers to ensure the design intent is accurately represented in the model. Participate in coordination and review meetings, providing model-based inputs.
- Conduct quality checks and revisions to uphold high standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Develop alignments, profiles, and corridors, and effectively create and consume data shortcuts.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in Autodesk Civil 3D BIM modeling for civil works, with a strong emphasis on wet utilities and stormwater drainage.
- Proven experience as a Civil 3D Modeler or in a similar capacity on infrastructure projects, covering water, sewer, and stormwater networks, urban infrastructure, or large-scale developments.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D software and other relevant modeling tools.
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, survey data, and design reports.
- Exceptional attention to detail, modeling accuracy, and adherence to standards.
- Capacity to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and meet project deadlines.
Desired Skills
- Experience with additional civil engineering and BIM software such as AutoCAD (for advanced drafting and detailing) and Navisworks Manage (for model review and clash detection); familiarity with other BIM or visualization tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with local codes, standards, and regulations related to wet utilities and infrastructure, particularly within Qatar or the GCC region.
- Experience in BIM workflows, including working under a BIM Execution Plan, understanding Levels of Detail/Development (LOD), and supporting clash detection and issue resolution in coordination meetings.
- Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
