Join our team as a Drainage Engineer in Doha, Qatar, where you will play a key role in developing conceptual and detailed engineering designs for infrastructure development projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing technical documents, coordinating with various engineering disciplines, and engaging with clients and team members on technical and non-technical aspects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Contribute to the development of conceptual and detailed engineering designs for infrastructure development projects.
- Prepare technical notes, design reports, and other engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary designs and resolve design challenges.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, effectively engaging with clients, management, and team members.
- Provide support for other wet utilities (foul sewer, potable water, TSE) as required.
- Prepare engineering design models using Civil 3D or similar software.
- Utilize engineering software tools such as SewerGEMS, InfoWorks ICM, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and other relevant digital platforms.
- Apply standard engineering principles and techniques to complete complex assignments.
- Review design deliverables (plans, profiles, etc.) for technical compliance and construction clarity.
- Collaborate with BIM/CAD designers to finalize engineering drawings and resolve potential clashes with other utilities.
- Develop simple workflows or templates to improve design efficiency and consistency.
- Apply advanced engineering principles to analytical models as needed.
- Review and check the work of peers and less experienced engineers for quality and accuracy.
- Track and report progress against task assignments and baseline schedules.
- Support project deadlines by contributing as a productive and reliable team member.
- Prepare fundamental engineering calculations, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and surveys.
- Present proposals and design solutions to clients, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- May supervise junior staff and provide technical guidance and performance input.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; preference for candidates holding a master's degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate is an advantage.
- Familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of QA/QC standard practices and procedures.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software.
- Preferably already hold MME Engineer Registration or must be attained within six months. Experience in Qatar and the Middle East is a plus.
