You will own the operation, maintenance and technical management of irrigation networks and associated piping systems on site in Muscat. The role focuses on keeping water distribution assets safe, reliable and compliant with project requirements through planned maintenance, troubleshooting and disciplined documentation. You will work from drawings and technical specifications to plan and execute installation, testing and commissioning activities, then carry those assets into steady-state operations. Your work will directly affect irrigation performance, water availability and service continuity across landscaping, infrastructure, utilities or public-realm environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain irrigation networks, pumping stations and associated piping systems to meet flow and pressure requirements.
  • Plan preventive maintenance for pumps, valves, controllers, filters, meters and pipelines, then track completion and outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot faults across irrigation mains, laterals and control equipment, isolating issues quickly and restoring service safely.
  • Execute corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, actuators and pipework, including repairs, replacements and functional checks.
  • Coordinate installation works for new pipework or network modifications, ensuring correct materials, fittings and workmanship standards.
  • Lead testing and commissioning activities such as pressure tests, flushing, disinfection where applicable and performance verification against specifications.
  • Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation to confirm scope, constructability, tie-in points and as-built requirements.
  • Inspect site works to verify alignment with approved drawings and method statements, raising technical queries when discrepancies appear.
  • Maintain technical records including maintenance logs, test reports, commissioning checklists and equipment histories for audits and handover packs.
  • Monitor network performance indicators such as leaks, pressure drops or pump run hours, proposing actions to improve reliability.
  • Liaise with site teams to schedule shutdowns or isolations safely, minimising disruption to irrigation service areas.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in irrigation networks and associated piping systems within landscaping, infrastructure, utilities or public-realm projects.
  • Relevant Engineering qualification (for example Mechanical Engineering or similar).
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems including pumps, valves, pipelines and water distribution equipment.
  • Proven capability in installation works plus testing and commissioning of piping or water distribution systems.
