LAN and Radio Telecommunications Commissioning Engineer

About the Role / About the Job
You will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing the installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover of telecommunications systems. The role involves troubleshooting and commissioning LAN/WAN networks, fibre-optic structured cabling, VHF/UHF/TETRA radio systems, microwave systems, network-management systems, and vessel-safety systems. You will conduct and coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), system integration testing, performance testing, and final acceptance activities. Additionally, you will prepare, review, and approve engineering drawings, technical documents, test procedures, method statements, and contractor deliverables. Management of commissioning activities for Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning (EPIC) greenfield and brownfield projects is also a key component of this role, from engineering through to project handover. You will coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams while managing resources, schedules, technical issues, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance, Hazard Identification (HAZID), and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 12–15 years of telecommunications commissioning experience, including at least 8–10 years in onshore or offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Strong technical expertise in LAN/WAN networks, fibre-optic structured cabling, VHF/UHF/TETRA radio systems, microwave systems, network-management systems, and vessel-safety systems.
• Proven experience in FEED and EPIC greenfield and brownfield projects, including engineering-document review, FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Strong communication, technical writing, coordination, planning, and resource-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Valid BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS and Basic H2S certification is preferred.
• Ability to travel and work at client locations worldwide.
