Key Accountabilities
- Lead development and optimization of short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans aligned with production targets and resource utilization.
- Provide technical support to operations, monitor plan vs. actual performance, and drive productivity and cost improvements.
- Collaborate with geology, survey, and operations teams to integrate data and ensure effective mine-to-mill alignment.
- Ensure compliance with EHSS, regulatory requirements, and safe mine design practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance planning processes, and lead team performance and development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional certification or postgraduate qualification in mining or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in mine planning and technical support, preferably in open-pit mining operations.
- Proven experience in short-, medium-, and long-term mine planning, pit optimization, and scheduling.
- Experience in integrating geology, geotechnical, and operational data for planning and decision-making.
- Demonstrated exposure to production monitoring, cost control, and performance improvement initiatives.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in mine planning software (Surpac-MicroMine-Volcan).
- Strong expertise in mine design, scheduling, and resource optimization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for performance improvement.
- Effective leadership and stakeholder management across cross-functional teams.
- Sound knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and mining operations.
