Maintenance Technician

The role involves performing major and minor assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, testing, and disposition of various types of components and accessories as required to overhaul slides and life rafts. Key responsibilities include:

• Overhaul of pressurized cylinders and regulators, including hydrostatic testing (HST) of bottles.
• Repair of composite compartments and fabrics.
• Follow quality procedures and technical documentation accurately.
• Maintain high levels of quality and comply with all rules and regulations of the company, including Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, International Trade Compliance, and Human Resources.
• Complete assigned tasks within the scope and skill level of the job description to support department objectives and develop individual skills.
• Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates, including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
• Support other maintenance activities in other SBUs when not overhauling slides.

Requirements for this position include:

• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
• Ability to utilize computer systems (SAP, MS Office, etc.) to input and retrieve information.
• Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.
• Comply with EH&S policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Report unsafe practices and conditions to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
• Recommend improvements to EH&S practices to create a safer workplace.
• Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Working conditions consist of:

• 100% of time spent on production floor with occasional loud noise, requiring safety glasses.
• Constant daily exposure to adhesive and solvent vapors.
• Constant daily pushing and pulling of material.
• Minimal exposure to machinery with moving parts.
• Ability to use and manipulate clamps, brushes (with gloves on), pushers, scissors, seam tape, and talc.
• May need to carry materials.
