Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

About the Role
The position involves overseeing the commissioning process for HVAC, chilled water, pumping, and ventilation systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing approved drawings and specifications to ensure installation readiness, as well as preparing necessary commissioning documents. The role includes conducting checks and performance tests, coordinating with various stakeholders, and preparing reports to support system handover.

Responsibilities

• Review approved drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, and installation readiness for HVAC, chilled water, pumping, and ventilation systems.
• Prepare commissioning plans, method statements, test procedures, and inspection checklists in line with project requirements.
• Conduct pre-commissioning checks and functional performance tests, including verification of associated controls and BMS interfaces.
• Coordinate testing, site inspections, and consultant witnessing with contractors, TAB teams, controls specialists, and equipment vendors; track deficiencies through rectification and retesting.
• Prepare commissioning reports, maintain test records, and support final inspections, O&M documentation, and system handover.

Requirements

• Must have Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in testing and commissioning experience in construction projects involving mechanical building services.
• Practical knowledge of HVAC equipment, chilled water systems, pumps, ventilation, and associated controls.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, prepare commissioning documentation and coordinate effectively with site teams and consultants.
