Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Develop high-quality 3D models and 2D mechanical and assembly drawings using CAD software, following the company drafting standards and best practices.
- Prepare stack-up analyses, system layout drawings, and installation sequence drawings to evaluate fit-up, potential interferences, and overall product compatibility.
- Produce conceptual sketches, preliminary layouts, and design concepts to support Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) activities.
- Collaborate closely with Product Design Engineers to incorporate engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and industry best practices to ensure designs meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and revision control for all generated models and drawings.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting quality, CAD methods, and standardization.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and field service teams as needed.
Progress Monitoring & Control
- Track and report progress against baseline schedules, milestones, and key deliverables.
- Identify delays, risks, and variances; recommend recovery or mitigation actions.
- Support project performance analysis, generate dashboards and reports for management and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Communication
- Provide accurate and timely updates to Senior Engineers or Engineering Team Leaders.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, vendors, and testing disciplines.
Education and Training
- Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent required; Higher Technical Institution in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical drafting/design, including the creation of 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD tools (CREO, Solidworks, and AutoCAD strongly preferred).
- Experience (3+ years) working with Surface Wellhead and Christmas Tree equipment preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter) preferred.
- Strong understanding of engineering and drafting standards, including industry codes and regulatory requirements relevant to pressure‑containing oilfield equipment.
