We are seeking an experienced Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Specialist to support a major refinery project in Oman. This role requires a strong technical professional with proven expertise in refinery-wide RBI frameworks, risk assessments, asset integrity management, and RBI program improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and enhance refinery-wide RBI frameworks, methodologies, procedures, and governance systems.
- Conduct comprehensive RBI gap assessments against API 580, API 581, and recognized industry best practices.
- Identify gaps and deficiencies in existing RBI methodologies, inspection strategies, risk assessments, and data management practices.
- Develop RBI improvement plans and implementation roadmaps with prioritized recommendations.
- Review and optimize Probability of Failure (PoF), Consequence of Failure (CoF), risk rankings, and inspection intervals.
- Evaluate equipment damage mechanisms, corrosion management practices, and inspection effectiveness.
- Ensure alignment of RBI frameworks with Asset Integrity Management Systems (AIMS), inspection, maintenance, and reliability programs.
- Establish RBI performance indicators and monitoring mechanisms to support continuous improvement.
- Lead technical workshops, provide specialist recommendations, and support the implementation of RBI improvements.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or refinery industry.
- Strong working knowledge of API 580 and API 581 standards.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting RBI gap assessments and developing refinery-wide RBI improvement strategies.
- Strong understanding of PoF, CoF, risk ranking methodologies, damage mechanisms, corrosion management, and inspection planning.
- Experience integrating RBI programs with Asset Integrity Management Systems (AIMS).
- Previous experience supporting large-scale refinery operations is highly preferred.
Project & Employment Details
- Project Location: Oman
- Project Duration: 12 months
- Number of Vacancies: 1
- Working Hours: 9 hours per day, 6 days per week
- Rotation: 11 months on duty, followed by 30 days of annual leave
- Leave Salary: Applicable
- Air Ticket: One return air ticket per year
- Overtime: Not applicable
