Job Responsibilities
- Control and perform the testing and commissioning work of assigned projects as per the terms of the agreement and contract.
- Ensure that all requirements related to the testing and commissioning aspects of fire and life safety systems are fully covered and implemented according to project requirements.
- Review shop drawings to confirm that specifications mentioned in agreements/contracts and project documents are met without omissions.
- Handle engineering tasks at the main office while coordinating with the technical/engineering team.
- Maintain local authority specifications, standards, and requirements.
- Facilitate project coordination related to mimic panels, smoke panels, life safety systems, including calculations, schematic diagrams, shop drawings, C & E Matrix, etc.
- Collaborate closely with the FA management team to establish and implement policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring adherence to local QCDD regulations and international codes and standards.
- Ensure compliance with codes, NFPA standards, and relevant regulations and permits.
- Uphold strict compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
- Develop and implement comprehensive work plans and associated procedures.
- Maintain logs and report daily activities to comply with local authorities.
- Follow maintenance/testing and commissioning procedures, ensuring their implementation through the Commissioning team in line with local QCDD regulations and international codes and standards.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- QCDD (Certified Fire Engineer)
- Fire systems manufacturer certification (e.g., Carrier Fire Systems such as EST3 and EST4)
- Proficiency in project software such as AutoCAD and Primavera; advanced computer office skills
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 101 standards
Job Experience
- 6+ years of experience in fire and life safety systems within a commissioning environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in the GCC region.
