Key Responsibilities
- Conduct generation-connection and renewable-energy operational/planning studies, including assessment of suitable grid connection points.
- Study requirements for strengthening and connecting the Kuwait power system with the GCC Interconnection Grid.
- Review and evaluate operational and planning reports issued by the GCC Interconnection Authority and prepare technical comments.
- Support GCCIA workshops and prepare associated technical reports and observations.
- Study system balance under sudden loss of generation or load and assess operational issues affecting network stability.
- Assess renewable-energy forecasting, integration constraints, curtailment considerations and network investments required to accommodate additional renewable generation.
- Support seasonal, substation-connection and network-expansion studies as required.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in power-system planning, generation/interconnection, and renewable integration studies.
- Knowledge of interconnected transmission-system behaviour and system stability principles.
- Experience reviewing complex utility study reports and converting findings into actionable recommendations.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline; postgraduate qualification desirable.
