As a Senior Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer within the Information Systems (IS) team, you will play a crucial role in automating operations and enhancing the infrastructure used by over 60 million Ubuntu users. This position is ideal for an experienced technologist passionate about Linux and automation who seeks to advance their career at the company. Your responsibilities will include driving automation for private and public clouds, working closely with IS architects, and developing best practices in infrastructure as code.
Responsibilities:
- Develop automation and Gitops practices as a tech lead within your team.
- Collaborate with architects to align solutions with IS architecture.
- Design products for the organization using infrastructure as code.
- Automate software operations and maintain the company’s core services and infrastructure.
- Develop skills in troubleshooting, performance investigation, and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Mentor teammates and participate in collaborative design sessions.
- Take responsibility for time-sensitive escalations.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of hosting architecture with a focus on infrastructure as code.
- Product-oriented mindset and Python software development experience.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure management.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux systems and networking concepts.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Fluent communication skills in English.
